Hosting is the process of storing files on a server connected to the net so that other people may access them. Your ISP (i.e., Internet Service Provider) probably offers space for hosting as part of your dial-up / DSL / cable modem account. You will probably want to have your site hosted elsewhere since you will probably want your own domain name; which of these two would you rather use?

or

You can possibly save some money if you decide who you will use for your hosting before you register your domain name. By using the hosting company to register the domain name you may avoid a charge for transferring the name to the host or from the registrar you used.
Free hosting without banner ads or pop-up windows is available from:
http://www.doteasy.com
For hosting with e-commerce, I would usually use:
http://www.pair.com
and get the AmeriCart shopping cart at their discounted price.
For other sites I have also used:
http://www.hostsave.com
If you do not save any money by using the hosting company to register your domain name, then shop for the lowest priced registration.
http://www.godaddy.com
currently starts at $8.95 per year, quantity one.
NOTE: If you find a better value than I have presented here, please do the following two things:
1. Grab the great deal.
2. Let me know about it so I can post it here.
Thanks.
